Conventions analysis double page spread

Language- The language used on this double page spread of Kerrang! magazine is informal, the headline and the word 'ABSOLUTLEY!' are eye catching to the reader as the background colour and text colour contrast making it stand out as well as the font and the way the word is all in capitals, this also makes the reader want to read on.

Institution- Kerrang! is a London UK based rock magazine and published by Bauer Media Group and has over 30,000 readers a week.

Ideology- Kerrang! has an average of 15-25 year olds buying and reading the magazine with 60% male and 40% female. According to the magazine the readers buy 31 albums a year because of the magazine and what it promotes

Audience- Kerrang!'s audience has 20% more male readers than female and the average age of a kerrang! reader is 19. Kerrang!s target audience is 15-25 year olds all with an interest in rock music and the other music genres portrayed within the magazine.

Representation- The people represented in this magazine are mainly rock bands and artists, they are portrayed in a positive way as the magazine mainly talks about their music, upcoming gigs and anything new and interesting to do with the artists. The man on this double page spread is portrayed as a band member in a rock band, this is because he is in Kerrang! magazine and he has tattoos and piercings, this is a stereotype,
